All of my hens were up on the roost this afternoon except my rooster and I was going to put him on there when he ran around the coop (he doesn't always like to be picked up). When I got him which didn't take long at all, maybe less than a minute, he was breathing hard. I could actually hear it and usually I can't hear any of my chickens breathing. I don't know if it was because he was running around and it's cold outside or something else but I just wanted to make sure and see what others think about it. I know sometimes heavy breathing can be a symptom of medical problems. Any info would be appreciated by this consistent worry wart [IMG]

I would give him time to get rested, and then go out to the coop and just listen. If he is wheezy, you should hear it.
