Hi, my name is Heather and I'm from central Kansas.

I got a dozen chicks this past spring.

Never had chickens before.

They are a HOOT!

Just wanted to say hello!

from middle Tennessee! You are up awful early this morning! Me too...but I have to go to work! Yuk! Would much rather stay home and work on my chicken coop. I got my chickens this last spring also! I have been having fun with them all summer...but I am ready to get some eggs! I bought 12 sexed chicks, 6 RIR's and 6 Buff O's, but somehow a roo snuck in the bunch, so I have 11 hens. I hope Rudy Roo (he is the only one I named as he is the only one I can recognize

) turns out to be a good rooster that protects his girls and doesn't flog me! If he turns into one of those sneaky attack ninja roos, he will be turned into a pot of chicken and dumplings! So far he is ok, but he is only 13 weeks old, so...we'll see! Good luck with your birds!

Welcome from Vermont!! My husband wanted our children to experience chickens (see below..they've experienced alot) He said we'd start with only 10............we now have 27 layers and 32 meat birds!!!!
