Hi everyone! I've been reading BYC for a long time but just now joined. I ordered my first chicks yesterday, 15 Australorp chicks, 5 blue silkie chicks and 15 assorted guinea keets. I'm going to get my new babies on June 29 or 30th. I ordered from Ideal because people seem generally happy with them and they didn't have a minimum too big for my new little operation.
My friend and I are starting our little farm in hopes it will be something we can enjoy for a long time. We currently have three Red New Zealand meat rabbits and a lot of pipe organ dirt daubers. We didn't ask for the latter but they haven't offered to leave! After reading several threads on BYC I'm happy to finally be able to call myself a poultry owner. I already know I'll make friends and gain a lot of priceless knowledge here!
