I just want to say hello to everyone. I am a soldier in the United States Army and have been home for about 19 months now. Just recently my family and I have taken on the awesome decision to have chickens to supplement our grocery bill of expensive store eggs. My unending desire to want to learn more and have more I have decided to start incubating some of my eggs. With everyone's wide varieties of information on this site has made my decision to this very easy. I even built my own incubator out of an old Styrofoam cooler. I am awaiting our first test egg to hatch January 30th. I candle it an I am on day 4 and me and the family are enjoying watching the stages of growth inside the egg. Thank you everyone here for answers before I came a member. By the way my chickens are all buff orpington. Very cool breed.
