Hi all, I'm a new member on BYC. I am new at raising chickens here in Sonoma County CA. I'm looking forward to learning all I can from each of you. I have so much fun with my chickens. I enjoying watching them and learning each of their personalities. They lay beautiful, healthy eggs. I can't wait to start raising some chics.
    Sincerely
    Sonomachic

Greetings from Kansas, sonomachic, and :welcome! Great to have you in our community! As a chicken newcomer you might like doing some research in the Learning Center here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center It is packed with informative poultry articles containing a wealth of valuable info. Also, if you'd like to chat with some of your poultry owning neighbors, I believe there are a couple CA threads in this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you
Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Thanks Tella! So exciting to hear from someone from down under! Actually my daughters brought it to my attention recently how much I talk about my chickens! LOL! So it's refreshing to talk with someone with the same interests! Thank you again for the warm welcome!

You're right about chickens being fun to watch! If you think you want to get into incubating & hatching, there's some good information in the Learning Center plus here's a link to take you to that forum where you can ask questions and get help with it:

It's nice to have you here!
