My barred rock has laid one egg but no more...what's up??

How old is she? How long has it been since she laid the egg? Is there a chance that she has a hidden nest somewhere? Hens often sneak off and do that. If she is a pullet laying for the first time - it can take awhile till their system has figured out all the laying business. Any chance something is taking eggs she may have laid, like raccoons, or snakes???
