I joined here today and am fired up about hatching eggs. I live in south Alabama, am a retired physician, have been a hobbyist for years, raised Gouldian finches, sail, travel. I hope to breed specific breeds and have begun raising Bresse chickens. Looking to breed Black Copper Marans, Cream Legbar, California Whites, Welsummers and well, who knows what. I have a small 5 acre farm and keep busy as I have ever been More later.

There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your breeding.)

Has anyone had a problem with rats? Poison, traps, trash cans for feed. What more do I need to do?
