Hi everyone, I'm from Australia and I've recently got 6 isa brown chooks, point of lay pullets. We had fun making our chicken coop and the girls have recently started laying...from their perches! Anyways, I've done some research in these forums and tried a couple of things without success so I'm going to make a post in the egg laying section with my story and some pictures and see what everyone can suggest.

[IMG] so glad you have joined us.

Wondering if you have found multiple perch laid eggs from a single pullet or could be the first from each?

When my gals started laying - the first eggs appeared by the water fount, in the run and one laid hers walking down the ramp.
I did have one floor layer, but after about 6 months she moved to the nests.

If only the first egg is while on the roost, they may have been surprised and didn't know what was happening.

But if they are routinely laying while on the roost, IMO that is unique. And if laying at night, that would be weird.

Maybe you could put a net under the roosts
