Hello everyone. I am new and hoping soon to get my first flock going. I am new to keep chickens but not farm animals. I have one horse, who I show in carriage driving. A dog, and 3 cats. I have started to make my first layout of my coop and looking for any info pages people can send me to. Also I need to know a good place to get chicks in my area. I am looking to get some black australorps and maybe a few other chicks. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Welcome to BYC. Type your state name in the search bar at the top of the page. Locate your state thread, and perhaps someone there can help you locate some local birds.

Welcome to BYC, think you'd like some of the coops in the above coop section - many sizes, styles, types (ie, chicken tractors permanent structures etc.) Some with step by step descriptions.
