Hi, I live around East LA county and I have a small coop with 2 chickens. My boyfriends dad has a horse stable which they changed into a chicken coop and own around 50

I got my first chicken from them and I have 1 Rhode Island red mix rooster and 1 easter egger hen :)!

    nice to meet you :)!

    Welcome to BYC.

    So glad you found us.

As for adding to your flock, you always want to add chickens of approximately the same age.

If you want good layers, get leghorns or sex-links.

If you want gorgeous eggs, get ameraucanas or marans.

    Good luck!!!
