Hello from central Texas.

    I am new to backyard chickens but would like to get around six chicks but want to get everything I need set up before I bring any chicks home any hints on where to start

    I would suggest first deciding what kind of chickens you wish to keep, and how many - that will let you plan your coop and run.

    You can also look thru the archives with questions you have, look thru the coop section, breeds and of course the 'where am I where are you' section to connect with others in your state. It gets easier as you go. The chickens will have you trained in no time! Enjoy BYC!

    Thanks everyone for the helpful tips. I finally got my hoop coop built and got 3 6 week old chicks my neighbor gave me hope to have pics up soon.;)
