Greetings from El Paso, TX. I've been reading BYC for about a year. Had chickens for about a year or so. Lost them all tragically to a midnight marauder. Maybe a tom cat or owl or something? Dunno.

Anyway, going to get back into the chicken bid-ness, because I love the fresh eggs! Looking for some information on keeping the chickens protected from varmits, etc. Will get into the threads to research.

Glad to be here as a member.

Here's a link to a youtube video I shot last summer, detailing out my set-up. Any input is appreciated.

I understand what 1/2" hardware cloth is, but I'm not sure how it would help in the set-up I have. Thanks.

Welcome to BYC! Sorry to hear about your losses :( unfortunately with your set up almost any predator can climb chain link and get in to kill your chickens...I recommend covering the run with hardware cloth to keep them out. Good luck to you.
