Hi all! We, my family and myself, are planning to buy our first 6 chicken this summer. I found backyardchickens via google while searching for some ideas for building a chicken coop. My wife Katharina and me have read a bunch of books about chicken keeping and want to learn some more here.

We want to buy 2 Wyandotte, 2 "Deutsches Lachshuhn" and 2 "Zwerg-Sussex"

My name is Axel, I'm from Hamburg, Germany, living with my familiy (my wife Katharina, my daughter Annika and my son Niklas) in Bavaria near Munich - not to forget our flat coated retriever Nelson.

My first impression about backyardchickens? Great community! I'm glad to be part of it and looking forward to learn a lot.

    With greetings from Germany,
    Axel

  4. Hi! Welcome to the board. I have only been a member for a couple of months and have learned so much! Wyandottes are my favorite breed. Is there a particular color you are going to get?

Welcome from Southeast Missouri. Are you buying baby chicks or grown pullets? There are advantages to both.
