Thanks for the wonderful and informative website and forum you have here! I have learned so much (and continue to) from pouring over all the valuable info here.
I'm a few short weeks away from joining you all in the joys of chicken ownership. Thought I would join the fun here and say "hi!"... so that my first posts a few weeks from now weren't "help!". haha!
I am in the hunt for my chicks as you read this. I'm looking for some locally hatched. Not sold on any particular breed, just good egg layers that are winter hardy. Looking to have a small 3-4 hen backyard flock that my boys, my wife and I can raise and enjoy.
We live on Newman Lake in Washington... just a few miles from the Idaho boarder. I actually live just across the lake from Pips-and-Peeps. Fun to find a neighbor online. I really need to stop in and say "hi" and see her flocks!
