Hi everyone. I'm a total newbie to chicken keeping, but we rescued 4 yesterday. They were part of a rescue from a farm to stop them being slaughtered after reaching the end of their usefulness. Think they are only about 12-18mths old.
They're in their coop, and are only coming out of their roost to have some water and food.
Eventually they'll be free ranging. Poor things need a lot of tlc for a while.

How wonderful to rescue the girls! Take a look at the Learning Center articles to help you get off on the right foot. With some time and tlc, you'll have them comfy in their new home and paying their keep in eggs.

Thank you for joining us!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! That's very nice of you to rescue these hens. They can sometimes take a while to settle in when they have been rescued form a large or commercial set up. As NorthFLChick said the learning centre is a fantastic place to start for lots of great articles. I too am more than sure with some love and care they will make fantastic hens for you.

Wishing you the very best of luck with them in the future.
Enjoy BYC :frow
