Hello from Louisiana

I've been reading and learning here at Backyard Chickens for the last couple of months in anticipation of my first chickens arriving. I ordered 10 chicks from Meyer hatchery, and they arrived October 2; two passed away, but the remaining eight (knock on wood) seem to be doing great. I am utterly smitten with my girls: Edith P. (Black Copper Marans), Simone (Cuckoo Marans), Prudence and Hester (Dominiques), Tallulah (Lavender Orp), Bernadette (Welsummer), Delphine (Blue Splash Marans), and Zuline (mystery Marans).

I look forward to learning more and meeting fellow chicken lovers!
