I've wanted chickens for a long time now. I've been around them periodically throughout my life and always found them to be fascinating.
Well, we were visiting with some friends in Arkansas last week, and they have a ton of chickens and turkeys. I was admiring the chickens and mentioned how I have always wanted some. Well, my friend sent us home with a 4 week-old Black Copper Marans. I've since purchased 3 Buff Orpingtons and 3 Black Giants (I'm assuming those are the same as Jersey Giants?). My wife wants to get a RIR, but we'll see where we go with that.
Anyhow, just wanted to say hello.
