I am so happy to meet other people who love their chickens!

I got my first set of 4 hens and a rooster last April, and then another set of a rooster and three hens in October.

I am surprised that they are just so-- adorable! I never suspected they would be like that. In truth, I accidently spoke of them a few days ago as my "Kitty Chickens" because I just LOVE cats and the chickens are a lot like cats!

I have 2 roosters and 7 hens, and, not only are the great pets, but, also, they lay so many eggs! The eggs are so delicious! Incredible! I am selling some and there is so much demand, that I may end up getting a few more hens!

Here it is rainy and chilly out, but they do not seem to mind. We let them run around in the yard when we can watch them, and then put them back into enclosures to be safe since my a hawk ate a few that belong to my neighbor.

I would love to meet more chicken lovers!

Hello to you living in Milwaukie!

It does seem that you have quite a family there!

How is it raising a turkey? Does she stay in the coop with your chickens? I am thinking of getting 1-2 turkeys just as pets and not to eat. I also plan on having 2 goats in the little barn my friends made for me.

Perhaps one day you might come visit here. I am making my father's garden into a mini farm. 4 cats, 7 hens, 2 roosters, one bee hive already, and one more bee hive, 2 goats, and maybe 2 chickens and even a small sheep breed will be living here next year.

We are on the Tualatin River, and it is swelliing up with water and so very beautiful as it rushes past us! (Yes, it actually rushes here, though in other places it is a slow moving stream). I keep seeing geese and other fliers. I think the Great Heron is away for the winter.

We do have quite the family here. Yes, the turkey hen stays in the coop with all the chickens, she also hatched a couple of our hens eggs this summer and she loved being a mother. That sounds like you have a great farm planned for you. I wish I had more property to raise more animals, we live on about 3/4 of a acre so its a very small space for all these animals we have here. That sounds beautiful where you live!
