Planning on starting my flock this summer. Just here to soak up as much knowledge as possible. Anything you guys wish you would have known at the start, I'd love to hear.

Welcome to BYC. Click on the 'Learning Center' at the top of the page, study the forums, question away, plan, and you will be set to go. Build your coop bigger than you think you will need because these birds are addictive - in a good way.

Everyone here is an enabler. We will never tell you, you have too many chickens. You're on your own with that. Oh chicken wire is flimsy and useless. 1/2" Hardware cloth is the way to go.[IMG]

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread may be useful as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - just type the name of your state in the search box.

    All the best
