Hi folks! Here is my little welcome bio:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am completely new to chickens. I have been researching for a while and I’ve decided to take the plunge.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero, but soon to be 6 at the end of February.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We will be starting with 2-Silver Laced Wyandotte’s, 2-Americana’s and 2-Easter Eggers. Our primary focus is laying hens.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Getting back to my family’s history and knowing where my food comes from.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Crochet, Cricut crafting, cooking, hunting, and raising my family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family of 3 humans, a German Shepherd, a Black Lab, 2 Betta fish, and a Ball Python. I work in the insurance industry, and I’m looking forward to doing something that gets me outside more.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking for a chicken community on Facebook and came across this page. Looking to learn from fellow flockers instead of just reading blogs and watching YouTube.
