Hello everyone! We are new to the chicken world! We got our first chicks on Easter (it was an accident that it was that day!) and they have grown into 4 gorgeous girls. We currently have 21 eggs incubating, and are so excited to hatch the newest members of our family! In addition to our hens, we have a Beagle and a Chihuahua, and a 14yr old daughter and a 10yr old son. We live on 80 acres in the country, and all in all, are quite happy with our charmed life :)
I'm looking forward to making some new chicken friends and getting some new chicken knowledge!!

Hello mrsolldale! Greetings from Kentucky. We bought our first chickens the day after Easter. Our local farm supply store was having a .50 cent each sale on them. Imagine that! We bought eighteen that day. Six red sex links, six buff orpingtons and six assorted bantams. We have since added a lot more chickens. Wishing you the best of luck on a high hatch rate! What kind of incubator are you using? At the moment we have a black silkie hen sitting on 14 eggs!
