My husband & I built our first chicken coop two years ago. One year ago we bought 6 one year old hens from a friend of mine who had way too many!! We loved it because we got eggs right away! We have learned a lot in the past year including how to hawk proof our chickens yard after we lost one of our girls to a hungry hawk! It broke out hearts to lose her but it will not happen again!! I am on a mission now to find organic feed for my girls. I do not like GMOs & was not happy when the lady at our feed mill where we buy our feed told me we would not find any feed without GMOs in it around Plain City Ohio....so, I am looking & will find some!! We love our girls & want to give them good stuff when it is not summer here!! Looking forward to learning lots on here!!
