Hi Everyone,

My name is Mary, I am so super excited because I just ordered my first batch of chicks to raise. I hope it doesn't take it long for them to hatch so I can bring them home. :) Now, I need to work on picking a coop style and building it. I was hesitant to get chicks because I only live on 1/4 acre but I think the area of our yard we have designated for them is large enough to make them happy. Looking forward to this new adventure.

Mary ...

Normally I just read these threads and have never added opinion or praise.
But since we seem to be city neighbors ... I thought I'd send you this link:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/anne-arundel-county-maryland-chicken-ordinance

City ordinance gives 40K sq ft as a guide for having backyard chickens.

Keep them in your yard and the neighbors shouldn't give you bother.
If any of your chicks turn out to be a rooster ... let him get some size to him, then it's time to make him into a soup!

Thomas
