Hello fellow lovers of chicken maths!
I am an enthusiastic collector of poultry, just starting out this year. I am the proud owner of a Gold-Laced Wyandotte, a Polish, a Barnavelder, an Australorp, a Blue-Laced Leghorn, a RIR, a Plymouth Rock, 5 Araucanas and 3 Toulouse goslings. :D
I look forward to spending time around here (I've been here for a while, but it was mainly off and on). :D

Welcome to Backyard chickens. BYC has a large Aussie community and a thread "Australia, six states and one funny little island," if you'd like to know what is happening around you.

Would love to see photos of your flock, if you would care to share some.

I'd love to share some! I'll wait for some more appealing weather before I take any, though. :p

Our weather is usually bad. :p Seems to be clearing up though, I'll get some nice pictures shortly. :)
    How nasty is the drought?

We've been pretty dry for around 3 yrs. now. Just staying above the line..have only had to watch water intake, whether it be outdoors or in, just one of those yrs. We just got some snow, and were pretty excited. We need it to snow on our mountains, this is our best chance of coming out of a drought. Having a good amount of snow on our mountains is what we need this yr. We hope for it every yr.

I've been looking around for a long while now, just ever really got involved in the community aspects of the forum :)

We had a horrible drought in 2000 (ish), finished in 2010. The impact they have on the landscape is devastating. :/
