Hello everyone. My name is Eddie from southern California. Just picked up 6 chicks from the local feed store about a week ago. Two buff Orpington, two black sex links and two white Plymouth rocks.

Welcome to BYC, Eddie. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have some excellent breeds. Black Sex Links are my personal favorites as they are very friendly and hardy egg laying machines that consistently churn out more than 300 large brown eggs per hen per year. Buff Orpingtons are very calm and gentle (great lap pets) and I'm sure you will love them. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

This will be my second time raising chickens but I am still very new at it. I love having them around and they're a lot of fun to watch. Here's a picture of them one. One of the Orpingtons is hiding. [IMG]
