Hello all! I’m Cat, and I live in the Phoenix area with my husband and our children. I was working with Mayo Clinic in the histology lab until our children came along, and now I manage our household.
We have two dogs and a few fish, but we are about to grow our family by 5 hens, and have never raised chickens before. My mother has quite a few, though.
We are hoping to raise black Australorps, but have had a little trouble finding chicks from a local farm/hatchery.
I’ve been a non-registered lurker here on BYC for a few months, and found the site via Google. It has certainly provided a wealth of information, and I am so excited to have a great community from which to ask for help and offer experience.
In my spare time (HAH, what’s that?), I knit and read. We have a very small garden I tend, as well.
