I am a first time chicken owner. I have a small "flock" of 10 chickens ranging in age from 21-23 weeks old. I believe that I have 8 Hens and 2 Roosters. I was hoping for all Hens. The breeds are mixed from what the man said that I bought them from. Ameraucana, Plymouth Rock, Sussex, Orpington, and covered by a RIR and Faverolles. I am excited to learn about my chickens.

My dad and I built the coop from scrap lumber around the house and have a 200 square foot enclosure for them to roam. I cant truly free range my chickens due to high population of predatory birds in the area and my 2 year old lab mix that would like to munch on them.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. I'm considering getting some Faverolle chicks myself in the spring if there are any available in our area.
