I have been reading a lot of information on here and thought it was about time to join. We have 6 chickens, 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Rhode Island Red, 2 Barred Rocks, 1 Black Star, and 1 that we were told was a Cherry Egger. They are all about 5 1/2 months old now and most are laying. No problems so far but it's nice to know there's a place to come if there are any issues.

Hi DawnM! I just joined the forum as well, and I'm also a chicken owner in Tacoma. My husband & I started a blog about raising hens in Tacoma - please feel free to contribute any articles/photos to the blog! We're hoping to help unite chicken enthusiasts in the area. We'd especially like to see a "Tour de Coop", much like the one Olympia has.
