Hey y'all. Yep, born and bred in Texas. Growing up, my family had chickens but I haven't had any myself until this spring. I have 7 hens now. I had one rooster but he has moved on to a new home....see my post "Silkie" in Chicken Behaviors. My chickens are therapy birds. My husband and I go out every afternoon, weather permitting, sit in the back yard and let the chickens free range for a while. We really enjoy watching them. I hold each one every day and love hand feeding them meal worms and treats. I'm hoping to learn as I go with support from this site. :)

Welcome to BYC!
What breeds do you have?
I started with 4 banthams. I bought them at our local feed store so I think they are just normal chickens (lol, I'm sure there is a better term). Now I have added two silkies, a D'Uccle (I think that's correct) and a Seabright. I am embarrassed to say how much I am enjoying them.

Thank you CTKen, glad to be here. I like your quote. I must be very wise because I seriously doubt myself.
