I've been lurking for MONTHS... and have used all the great information found here to build our coop, run and brooder and yesterday we brought 6 chicks home from TSC. I figured it was time to join.
No one in the house (my husband or 4 children) were overly keen on this idea of chickens, but now that they are here... they are in love. All of them.
My hope that this would be a "family" thing might prove true after all. Even the dog was protective last night in guarding the door to the basement.
I'm looking forward to sharing stories and continuing to learn here at BYC.
