Hello everyone! My name is Brandy and I am a first-time chicken mom as of Sunday. My husband and I have 2 daughters who are excited to have the chickens as well. We currently have 8 babies - 3 Partridge rock pullets, 3 California whites, and 2 mystery chicks. We also have 1 cat (named Turtle) and 3 dogs. Well, ok, 1 is a real dog who is DELIGHTED to have the chicks, 1 doesn't care, and the third just wants to lick them. After pouring over these threads for the past few days I decided I needed to join. We will be building a coop in the next few weeks and I'm soooo excited! :D
Looking forward to learning from everyone!
    V/r,
    Brandy

    Hi :welcome Brandy

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate I love raising chicks it's such a rewarding experience and great fun. When your mystery chicks are older you could post pics of them in the what breed gender section for help on identifying them. Here is the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Wishing you the very best of luck with them. Be sure to ask any questions you have, everyone here to help and very friendly. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Good morning Brandy and welcome to BYC!

Glad to hear the family is enjoying the new additions. Don't wait too long to build that coop, chicks grow so fast you can almost see it happening right before your eyes. If you haven't already, you might like to check out the coop section on BYC. You can find it here:
