Colorado, where ever the wind takes me
Don't have any chickens yet due to lack of space. However hopefully I have some precious chicks soon.

Plan on getting hens to start out with. A golden or black star. New Hampshire red,road island red, and last but not least a barred rock.
Have been doing research and they seem to be really good birds to have here in Colorado.I even plan to name the bunch.


Do those breeds sound good, and what do you think of building your own coop. Might give it a try since it sounds rewarding... thanks for your time. So excited to get my new chicks! :yiipchick

! Great to have you with us! I think the breeds you mentioned are excellent choices! The Coops link below will give you some ideas of the design and style you want. As a point of reference before you build, it is recommended that you allow 4 sq. ft./bird inside the coop. Good luck and have fun!!
