I am a new chickie mama of 8 babies. I started out thinking 6 would be fine. Then we lost one right away, so when we went to replace her, I ended up with 2 more, then the feedstore got some white plymouth rocks in so I had to get one of those sweet little yellow chicks. So now we have 1 RIR, 2 BO, 1 SLW, 3 EE, and one White Rock. I made a nifty little brooder from some utility shelving after seeing some ideas on here. Now we are working on the coop. I can see how this chicken math thing works because I just bought a run that will give me over 144 square feet! Woo Hoo, that just means I can get more chickens right? So far they are happy and healthy and I am learning a lot. Thanks for all the info you all share around here.
