Hi! My name is Katie.
My husband and I are somewhat new to chickens. Over a year ago we adopted the last chicken a friend of ours had. (She had a flock of six and they had all slowly passed away due to old age.) Unfortunately, Feathers (Buff Orp) passed away about a year ago.
Currently, we have six chickens all about 17-18 weeks old.

My husband found this site years ago and we have been visiting ever since. We gave gathered a lot of useful information over the years from all of you here, which has given us more confidence in raising chickens.
We are a family of four and spend a lot of time outside in our yard. Due to our work schedules, we don't have many hobbies other than antiquing, thrifting and spending time with our family.
We have a cat, tortoise and our six chickens. It's an interesting bunch but we love them all!
