I I just joined today but have been reading posts and info for a few months now. We have two adorable girls and a castle for a coop. At least we think so :). Have a few questions about the use and purpose of the DE. Have been feeding them all organize grower and produce. Hope to make some chicken friends here

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=learning+centre and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

Ok so much contradicting info on DE. I am feed my two only organic does using food grad DE fit into that line of thinking and feeding ?

Nice to meet you Patty. Personally I have never found DE to do any of the things they say it does. I think it's just a' placebo effect' folks expect it to work so they are sure it does - despite no improvements.

i know it is all so confusing. this is my first time hosting two chickens :) and i dont want them to get mites or anything else wrong with them. I do a lot of reading and have two books and hear so much about the DE
