hello all I am a new member and I was wondering if you could help me identify the breed of this chicken.. I only have two as I live on a golf course in Alaska. But even thought I live on a golf course I have about 20 rabbits, 2 chickens, 4 dogs, 1 cat 2 kids and a husband (he is VERY patient mind you). anyway I just met one of the members of this forum names Mrs.AK-bird brain (I think that is what she said) anyway I am aquiring her flock of button quail tommorrow and I am SOOOOOO excited.....so I am here learning a bit more about my chickens and more in general! anyway I lookforward to learning with you and from you!!!!

cant figure out how to post photos

    thanks Rebecca

[IMG] You're welcome. The cool part is that they mature in about 6 weeks, and only take 16 days to incubate, so you can multiply your "herd" quite quickly. Both the buttons and the coturnix. [IMG] In another 2 weeks, your baby coturnix should be big enough that you can start telling the males and females apart... the males will have a lot more rust on their chests, and the females will be more speckled with very little rust. (and they're yummy, too. [IMG] )
