    Good evening my name is Tina-Marie, and I'm looking to learn a lot from everyone here on back yard chicken.. I looking to get some laying hens to be able to get some fresh eggs... I anm also looking for a coop as well do anyone know where I should go looking for one?

    I would look at converting a shed into a coop or try to find a used coop that fits your needs.

    Welcome :frow Nice to have you here! Check out the coop section for ideas, lots of different styles and sizes, different needs as far as climate goes. DobieLover made good suggestions, converting a shed or for a very small flock even a playhouse may be the way to go. Some folks build or buy used coops. Prefab coops are advertised everywhere but the are generally too small for the number of chickens advertised and they are often very flimsy and ultimately not worth the money. You can also check Craig’s list or local yard sales

    Welcome to Backyard Chickens Tina - Marie Great to have you join us coops wise how craft are you most prefabs are a waste of money not real crafty buy a building from home depot the metal are less and can be good spay insulation works great no floor but hardware cloth as a skirt
