In the Brooder
Wow, what an awesome forum. I'm new to chickens, hoping to get my first chicks in about 2 weeks (as long as I can get the landlord sorted before then, and the brooder ready). I've been creeping BYC for a while, and I can't tell you how many silly mistakes it has already saved me from.
I'm in Canberra, Australia, and it will be me, my girlfriend, and our housemate looking after our ladies.
Hoping to get some Plymouth Rocks and maybe some Barnevelders or Vorwerks. 6 x day old chicks is the plan, with the roosters going back to the local breeder (she happily takes them back, and their fate after that is out of my girlfriend's sight). About 4 hens would be ideal, but less will be easier to deal with than more. We shall see.
