Hi everyone!
My family had chickens when I was young, I recently re-entered chicken world. Got three 4 month old chickens on June 2. Sadly, one of our girls came to us with some issues and despite our best attempts to save her, she didn’t make it.
I currently have 2 Lavender Orpington chickens who are supposedly hens, but my daughter swears she thinks one of them is a roo😂😂. Time will tell.
They are delightful to watch and the eggs will be nice, too!
I enjoy sewing, machine embroidery, and raising goats
My husband and I are retired (I was a math teacher for many years) and live on the farm I grew up on. We have 3 Shih Tzu, a Yorkie, 2 pit/lab mixes, 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats and 4 ducks. Our daughter and granddaughter live with us and help with the animals. BE703646-8A38-40D8-B6FA-C1E158DE8F6C.jpeg I plan to add to our chickens and goats soon. It’s a bit scary because our local vets don’t love treating goats and won’t see chickens at all 😞

In my reading, I kept running across (and saving) info from BYC, I hope to learn ways to help out chickens be as healthy as possible.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry about the one you lost. :hugs Always sad. Your others are adorable! 💗 I agree with the others, both girls! Enjoy your flock and welcome to ours!
Thanks, we tried everything we could😢
I’m glad to get more “girl” votes🤣 my daughter says she just has a rooster demeanor, which she does at times, but I just think she’s a bit more assertive.
