My daughter and I are brand new to chickens.
We got our first four Plymouth Barred Rock chicks last Wednesday. 3/15/23
We initially got our chickens with the thought of having fresh eggs in mind. However, after only a week we are thoroughly enjoying watching them grow and interact and can tell they will be a special part of our family.
We are both very involved in our church's ministries. My daughter loves to bake and is in the process of starting a home bakery. I enjoy using my Cricut to create things for others. We both love audio books.
We live in SE Ohio. Our family consists of my husband, our son, who is away at college, our daughter, my chicken partner, and our son's fiancé.
We found out about BYC from my mother in law. She raised chickens for a period of time and found this site to be invaluable. When I mentioned we were thinking about getting chicks, she recommended it. I've been reading articles for about a month now. After discovering the wealth of knowledge I've found on this site, I decided it was time to sign up!
