I'm Greg, from North Charleston, SC... I used to be a member of this board back about 6-7 years ago - at my peak I had about 10 hens of various breeds. I had to give them up when I moved away to take a job in another state. Unfortunately the gentleman I gave them to lived in the country on a small farm, and they were allowed to free-range and my "city chickens" were used to a fenced-in/covered run and coop, not sleeping in trees, and were quickly fell by predators. I mention this to warn anyone to be careful who you give your chickens to, if you have to give them up like I did. I came back to my hometown about 5 years ago, but I never got back into raising chickens until just a couple days ago. I'm doing it on a smaller scale now, with only four hens...they are still little bitties. Everyday I'm rediscovering my enjoyment of chickens and I'm glad to be back on the forum. Thanks!
