    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Since emigrating to Australia 5 years ago....previously lived in Edinburgh........too chilly/too crowded for chooks. Now live rurally so free roaming girls soaking up the sun and clucking beside kangaroos

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?
5....second 'set' since we got here....I think we still smelled of aeroplanes when we first bought chooks.......ended up with 2 cockerels and 3 hens...it was not pretty. Now just 5 girlies. Fortunately the local zoo has a one way ticket option for non laying/elderly fowl and excessive roosters

    (3) What breeds do you have?
2 black Australorps, 2 Isa Browns and a two tone isa brown head, blonde body number called Blodyn Tatws

    (4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
In desperation via Google....one of the Australorps has a hideous fly strike maggot thing going on at the moment.......sought advice.........cross fingers

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
walking about my new beautiful country.......drinking a wee glass or two of something cold on the verandah........kayaking....hanging about with friends

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

No other pets...but roos jump into our place, parrots swoop in, goannas creep past, turtles sunbathe beside our dam....................the usual!

[IMG] you'll also find aussies on the emu threads. Maggots are always bad news and can migrate through the body causing destruction every way they go.[IMG]
