I am the J of JandAchicks. First let me say thanks for the useful info i have picked up here as a lurker over the past several months. We have 3 Buff Orphs that we raised from chicks. They are almost a year old now and keep our family of 3 supplied with eggs.
Roughly 7 weeks ago we picked up 11 Black Stars (supposed to all be female), 2 RIR, and 2 very cute unknowns. I will try to post some pics.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) Black Sex Links (Black Stars) are my favorite chickens. They are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You should get loads of eggs from those girls. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Good luck with your flock.
