This morning my incubator spike in temp and I candled my eggs and one embryo is free floating as I turn and the veins are following with it. Is this one dead? What should I also look for. Worried I may of lost my entire set.

How high did it go and any idea how long it was spiked?

As long as there are veins, there's hope. What day are you on? Best thing you can do is give it 24 hours and recheck them.

My internal thermometer said 120, and for how long I'm not sure. I normally check them when I wake up and that's when I found it.

OUCH. If it was that high for even half an hour, chances are they aren't going to progress. I'd give it 24 hours and recheck just in case. If they are early on, like first week look for bloodrings, lack of veins with a free floating dark spot. You'll know it when you see it. Later development stages, lack of veining and movement are the biggest signs of death.

What kind of incubator do you use?

Ok I did find one with a blood ring and a free floater, and I removed those. But others nothing major will definitely keep eyes on them. Thank you

What day of incubation are they on? I agree that if it was at 120 for any length of time the eggs are probably all gonners. Sorry. I hope you can try again. Maybe you need a new thermostat on your incubator?
