So my chicken hatched her eggs the past 2days today her newest 4th baby chick was doing just fine when I went to go check on her earlier today. I got back home this afternoon to check up on her and the new chick’s feet are broken and swollen!! one of her toes is even falling off! I could see it’s bone:( My guess is the mother bit them in curiosity I don’t know what to do he was born today and was all healthy any advice on how to save him please I really feel bad for him

The chick might be safer in a brooder, maybe with one sibling for company.

Other than keeping it safe and warm, and providing food and water--I don't know what else to suggest. (By food and water, I just mean the normal chick starter and plain water, with marbles in the water so it cannot fall all the way in. Make sure the chick doesn't have to walk far to get to them, either.)

Chickens sometimes get over shocking injuries, so it might recover just fine.

Thank you I will be placing her in a brooder with water and food he does not seem to be distraught about it’s injuries but I’m just hoping for the best :fl
