We've got 7 baby chicks that are almost a month old and have been doing great until yesterday. Found one laying on side in corner of coop. Limp and couldn't open eyes. Was fine the day before. Ended up dying shortly after. Then today I go to coop and find one dead right in middle of coop on ground. Others seem fine as did these two that have died. What could this be??

It might help to tell us what your brooder set up is, however, in the meantime, I'd probably start treating them for coccidiosis. Do a search on this forum on how to treat for coccidiosis using liquid Corid. Good luck.

X2. Corid, and hurry. For coccidiosis. Also look around for anything bad they could have eaten, and smell their chick feed.

X3 - get some Corid (amprolium) powder or liquid ASAP.

Powder dose is 1.5 teaspoons per gallon for 5-7 days, then 1/3 teaspoon for 7 days. Liquid dose is 2 teaspoons per gallon for 5-7 days, then 1/2 teaspoon for 7 days.

You will find Corid in the cattle section of Tractor Supply.
