help! comb turning black!

Yesterday, Gloria had a large tear to the back of her comb. Now it is turning black. It is not scabs, because the back is entirely black. What could this be?

Much better. It just looks like a nasty peck with dried blood and what amounts to a bruise. It should heal over time, worst, case she loses that little piece. Gently apply triple antibiotic to it for a few days and barring any more pecking, she should be fine.
