Hey there people, I apologize if someone has asked this question, but I just went out to my coop and found one hen with almost all her wing feathers gone and some spots that look like sores. I havent noticed it before. Im new to this chicken thing. Last year they didnt do this. Im not sure if its molting or maybe mites? The other hens are missing feathers from the front Im guessing thats moulting. Thanks

Welcome to BYC. A photo or two of the bird in question would help. While it may well be molting (since you mention "last year" it sounds like this bird is at least over a year old - how old is it?), it could also be other issues going on as well to cause an appearance of soring.

Yes they are over a year and I thought about a picture after I posted this. So tmw I will take a pic and post thank you. I did read something about mites. We've had rain and that makes the dirt bathing harder.
