PLEASE HELP... I know this has nothing to do chickens but my flemish giant (rabbit) has a problem walking on both legs. she kinda drags herself, like she cant "pull" her leg under her and just flails the other one around trying to walk with it. She sometimes gets the leg under her and walks fine, for a little bit.
I feel bad for her....ANY tips would be nice.
HELP A FELLOW BIRD LOVER PLEASE!!

I'm not familiar with FG's so if it's something breed specific I wouldn't know, so sorry.

In general and off hand, possible hip dislocation or displasia comes to mind since normal walking is intermittent. Suddenly dragging the hind legs would (most often) point to a spinal injury, but it doesn't sound like that since your rabbit can sometimes get a leg under and walk normally. Splay leg, which does not sound like the issue either, would usually show up at a young age without sudden onset and perhaps progressively get worse. For a pet bunny, a vet exam and/or an xray could reveal a lot along with any treatment options that may exist.

Aloha,

Sorry to hear about your Bun-Bun. But I am no expert on rabbits but I do know that if they have a back injury it may cause a compromise to their ability to be mobile. I would recommend you to take the FG to see a vet. That way you know for sure. But it could be from Foot Abscess / Sore hocks. But again I think an expert Vet is required.

I found some sites if you care to glimpse at them.
