HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

ok so today i built an incubator like miss prissys'
UMMMMM so the light works fine but when i hooked the thermostat to the light, The breaker kicks..
SO..... i got a surge protector and sparks came out of it and THEN the breaker kicked again...
anyone know what to do?

Recheck your wiring you must have one wire wrong mine did the same thing the first time I did it.

which wires? on the thermostat is black on the top or red...

Get rid of the surge protector if it was sparking, the particular ones they sell in the store can set your whole house on fire.

My husband says you might be overloading your circuit or have a wiring problem.

Hey thanks guys. so i took my bator to my grandpa and he fixed it up nice. I had wired a direct short. (i am no electition!)
